On November 28, the III Young Scientists Congress started in the Sirius federal territory. Saratov State University traditionally actively participates in the representative educational forum. This year, 18 SSU staff members will share their achievements with colleagues and discuss promising areas.
Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valerii Falkov held a large-scale seminar-meeting entitled The Modernisation of Higher Education: New Opportunities and Fundamental Changes. SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko took part in the meeting. Rectors of Russian universities, as well as experts in higher education and science discussed the necessary fundamental changes in higher education.
The delegation of our university included Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Social Philosophy Sophia Tikhonova; Associate Professors Asel Adilova (the Department of Open Systems Physics), Dennis Terin (the Department of Materials Sciences and Technologies and Quality Management), Ekaterina Zinchenko (the Department of General and Counselling Psychology), Dmitrii Melnichuk (the Department of Functions and Approximations Theory), Pavel Barkov (the Department of Radiotechnology and Electrodynamics), Yurii Ishbulatov (the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering), Andrei Bukh (Department of Radiophysics and Nonlinear Dynamics); Senior Researchers Olga Goryacheva (the Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry), Julia Svenskaya (the Remote Controlled Theranostic Systems Lab), Ekaterina Prikhodenko (the Laboratory of Biomedical Photoacoustics), Nikita Navolokin (the Department of Human and Animal Physiology); Head of the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes Maria Yerokhina, Head of the SSU Media Centre Larisa Suvorova; Engineer of the Metamaterials Laboratory Igor Filchenkov, programmer of the Educational Laboratory of Logistics Julia Gubanova; students of the Faculty of Biology Dmitrii Golubev and Alina Pushkova.
This year, more than 4,500 participants are to gather the Congress. International experts from more than 25 countries are expected to participate there. The business programme includes more than 100 events.
Over 700 speakers and moderators will take part in expert sessions, panel discussions, lectures, and master classes, including two SSU teaching staff members. Sophia Tikhonova is participating today in the Tango with Cyborgs: Digitalisation and Social Changes session. Olga Goryacheva is reporting on November 29 at two venues – the Science in 10 Minutes: RNF Grantees Talk about Their Research pitch session and the Youth Laboratories: Priority 2035. Real Science by the Hands of Students session.
The congress programme this year includes five tracks – Big Challenges: Opportunities for Development, Opportunities for the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, The Country's Scale As a Space for Opportunities, Space for International Scientific and Technical Cooperation, and Development Tools.
It should be noted that Saratov State University has a very high rate of involvement of young scientists in research. At the congress, our representatives traditionally share their scientific results with colleagues, look for potential partners, and strengthen ties with the expert community.
